Espresso ā 2 double shots (or ¾ cup very strong coffee)
Milk ā 1 cup (dairy or barista oat)
Dark cocoa powder ā 1 tbsp
Dark chocolate chips ā 2 tbsp (semi-sweet or bittersweet)
Sugar or simple syrup ā 1ā2 tbsp (to taste)
Vanilla extract ā ¼ tsp
Peppermint extract ā ā
tsp (a few drops)
Optional drizzle ā chocolate syrup or green crĆØme de menthe syrup
Optional alcohol ā 1 oz (30 ml) crĆØme de menthe, peppermint schnapps, or spiced rum per mug
Optional THC infusion ā cannabis milk or syrup, dosed at 5ā10 mg THC per mug
Toppings: whipped cream, crushed mint candies, chocolate shavings
Brew espresso
Pull 2 double shots (or brew ¾ cup strong coffee).
Divide evenly into 2 mugs.
Make mint-chocolate base
In a saucepan, combine milk, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, sugar, vanilla, and peppermint extract.
Heat over medium, whisking constantly until smooth, glossy, and steaming (3ā4 minutes). Do not boil.
Add enhancements (optional)
For alcohol: stir 1 oz of chosen liqueur/rum into each mug.
For THC: add 5ā10 mg THC infusion per mug, replacing part of the milk or stirring in syrup. Stir well to distribute.
Froth and combine
Remove saucepan from heat. Froth with a handheld frother or whisk until creamy.
Pour mixture evenly over espresso in each mug.
Decorate and serve
Drizzle chocolate or green syrup in a spiral.
Top with whipped cream, sprinkle crushed mint candies or chocolate shavings.
Optional: drag a toothpick through syrup to make a spiderweb design.
