Flavor: Creamy vanilla matcha with “cauldron” foam

Ingredients (Single-Serve)

• 
  1 tsp culinary matcha
  
• 
  2 oz hot water (175°F / 80°C)
  
• 
  8–10 oz coconut milk or milk of choice
  
• 
  1–2 Tbsp white-chocolate or vanilla syrup
  
• 
  ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  
• 
  Optional swirl: tiny pinch activated charcoal or splash of butterfly-pea tea (for eerie color)
  
• 
  Toppings: whipped cream, candy eyeballs, or mini marshmallows
  

Equipment: Matcha bowl/cup, whisk (chasen) or frother, small pitcher

Steps

1. 
   Bloom matcha. Sift matcha into cup. Add 2 oz hot water. Whisk in zig-zag for 15–20 sec until smooth and frothy.

   Sweeten. Stir in syrup and vanilla extract.
   
3. 
   Steam milk. Heat milk to ~150–155°F. Froth to microfoam.
   
4. 
   Combine. Pour steamed milk over matcha base.
   
5. 
   Swirl (optional). Drag a toothpick dipped in charcoal or butterfly-pea tea across the surface for spooky marbling.
   
6. 
   Top. Crown with whipped cream “fog” and garnish with eyeballs or marshmallows.
   

Iced Version

• 
  Whisk matcha with 3 oz cool water.
  
• 
  Add syrup + vanilla.
  
• 
  Fill glass with ice. Pour in 8–10 oz cold milk, then the matcha.
  
• 
  Optional swirl on top for visual effect.
  

Batch (4 servings)

• 
  4 tsp matcha
  
• 
  ¾ cup hot water (175°F)
  
• 
  4 cups milk
  
• 
  ¼–½ cup syrup
  
• 
  1 tsp vanilla extract
  

Method: Bloom matcha with hot water using an immersion blender. Heat/froth milk separately. Combine per serving.
